Praying in the Spirit is not a rare spiritual achievement; it is the birthright of every child of God. The same Spirit who convicts, regenerates, and indwells also helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us according to the will of God. We do not always know what to ask, yet the Spirit does. We grow tired or distracted, yet He enables perseverance. We are prone to pray from the flesh, yet He reorients our desires to the Father’s purposes. Therefore pray at all times in the Spirit. Build yourself up in the most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourself in the love of God. The Spirit who cries “Abba, Father” in your heart will also teach you to pray, sustain your praying, and align your requests with the will of the One who searches the heart. Depend on Him, and pray.
