~~~ Parables for Modern Academia ~~~
New Revised Academic Version (NRAV)
- By Deborah and Loren Haarsma
If Jesus taught on the campus today,
what might His parables say?
Luke 14:28-29, 33
Suppose one of you wants to start a research project. Will he not first sit down and
estimate if his grant is large enough to cover the cost of equipment, salaries, and
overhead? For if his grant runs out halfway through, everyone who sees it will ridicule
him, saying, "This fellow began a project and was not able to finish." In the
same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be Jesus' disciple.
(Luke 14:28-29, 33)
