A Parent's Morning Prayer
Oh Lord, as today begins
I come to You.
Thank You for hearing my prayer.
I know this will be unlike any other day for me and my family
and even though I have made plans and preparation
circumstances may arise to test my faith.
Give me strength for what will come.
Make me sensitive to Your leading.
I need Your wisdom.
Thank You for showing me where I have fallen short of my potential.
Forgive me for my sins.
I forgive all who have sinned against me.
So often I feel totally inadequate to raise these children.
I need the mind of Christ.
My insufficiency shows me how much I need You.
I will not let confusion, or fear, or distress rule over me.
Your Word says You give to me Your Spirit of
Power, and Love, and a Sound Mind.
Thank You for such grace!
I receive all Your blessings with joy.
You have a wonderful plan for me and my children.
I trust You will work everything out for our good
and for Your glory.
As my children go out from our house today
keep them safe from physical danger,
protect their minds from the lies of the enemy,
give them a teachable spirit,
keep their hearts tender towards You.
With joy and expectation I welcome this new day,
a new opportunity to walk with You.
And I look forward to the joys of Heaven
in Your blessed presence forever.
Amen.
