Equidistant letter sequences are letters taken from a text at a fixed skip. Some Bible students have claimed that the Hebrew text of the Law carries names and words at those skips. The claim is studied. It is also disputed. It is not a doctrine, and it is not a way to add a word God did not speak. The Scripture that cannot be broken is the Scripture we can read. ELS, if it is there, would be a hidden consistency, not a new message. The church is not told to find skips. It is told to search the Scriptures, and to hold the word that is written.
