To rule with a rod of iron is the authority of the Son over the nations.
He will rule them with a rod of iron.
The psalm says the Son will break the nations with a rod of iron. Revelation gives that rule to the male child, and to the rider on the white horse, and to the one who conquers and keeps His works until the end. The rod is iron. It is not a suggestion. The overcomer is promised a share in that authority. The nations are the ones ruled. The one who rules is Jesus. Kiss the Son is the other half of the psalm. The rod is for those who will not.
