Living by Faith is the daily dependence of the believer on the Son of God — trusting His finished work, His present power, and His sure promises rather than relying on sight, self-effort, or changing circumstances.
It is the normal Christian life: the life now lived in the flesh is lived by faith in the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us.
Faith receives what grace provides and walks in the reality of union with Christ.
From beginning to end, the righteous live by faith.
Scripture declares that the righteous shall live by faith. This life of faith begins at conversion, when the sinner trusts in Christ alone for righteousness, and continues every day thereafter. Paul describes it personally: “The life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God.” Living by faith means looking away from self to Christ, counting as true what God has declared about the believer’s position in Him, and relying on the Spirit’s power for obedience and endurance. It is not a passive attitude but an active trust that produces obedience, perseverance, and hope. Faith takes God at His word, even when circumstances contradict outward appearance. It is the victory that overcomes the world, the means by which the Christian walks, stands, and grows. The same faith that justifies also sustains, sanctifies, and will one day be rewarded with the sight of the One trusted all along.

Living by faith is the only true Christian life. It begins when the sinner trusts Christ alone for righteousness and continues every day as the believer relies on the same Son of God who loved and gave Himself for him. Faith looks away from self, from circumstances, and from the visible world to the finished work of the cross, the present life of Christ within, and the sure promises of God. It is not a leap into the dark but a step into the light of what God has spoken. The righteous shall live by faith — in trial and in joy, in weakness and in strength, until faith becomes sight and the Son of God is seen face to face. Therefore walk by faith. Live by faith in the Son of God. He is faithful, and He will do it.
