God is omnipotent

He is all-powerful.
This means that
God possesses unlimited power
and is able to do all that He wills to do
in accordance with
His perfect nature and character.
Nothing is too difficult for Him,
and no power in heaven or on earth
can ultimately thwart His purposes.
The word “omnipotent” comes from Latin roots meaning “all-powerful.” In Scripture, this truth is often expressed with the simple declaration that nothing is impossible for God or that He does whatever He pleases.
Importantly, God’s omnipotence does not mean He can do things that are contrary to His own nature. He cannot lie (Titus 1:2), He cannot deny Himself (2 Timothy 2:13), and He cannot be tempted by evil (James 1:13). These are not limitations on His power but expressions of His perfect character. True omnipotence is the ability to accomplish everything that is consistent with who God is.
Scripture repeatedly affirms God’s unlimited power:
God is frequently called “the Almighty” (Hebrew El Shaddai; Greek Pantokratōr), a title that emphasizes His sovereign power over all things.
God’s power is seen throughout Scripture in many ways:
For the believer, God’s omnipotence is a deep source of comfort. The same power that created the galaxies and raised Jesus from the dead is at work in those who believe (Ephesians 1:19-20). No circumstance, enemy, or weakness is beyond His ability to handle.
At the same time, God’s unlimited power calls for humility and reverence. The One who holds all power is also perfectly holy and just. His omnipotence is never separated from His wisdom, love, and righteousness.
God’s omnipotence assures us that nothing can prevent Him from accomplishing His good purposes. The God who is all-powerful is also the God who loves His people and works all things for their ultimate good. Trusting in His unlimited power brings both peace in present trials and confident hope for the future.
