The birthday of the church
is the day of Pentecost.
When the day of Pentecost arrived,
they were all together in one place.
And they were all filled
with the Holy Spirit.
Pentecost is the day the Spirit was poured out on the waiting disciples in Jerusalem. The sound of a mighty rushing wind filled the house. Tongues as of fire rested on each of them. About three thousand souls were added that day. This is the beginning of the church as the Spirit-indwelt body of Christ.
