Jew names the people of Judah, and then the people of Israel who returned.
Salvation is from the Jews.
Jew comes from Judah. After the exile the returned people are called Jews, whether of Judah or of the wider remnant. Esther, Ezra, and Nehemiah use the name for the people in the provinces and in Jerusalem. Jesus tells the woman of Samaria that salvation is from the Jews. Paul says he is a Jew, and that there is neither Jew nor Greek in Christ, and he also says the advantage of the Jew is much, because the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God. The name is not an insult in Scripture. It is a people.
