The Levites are the tribe given to the Lord in place of the firstborn.
The Levites shall be mine.
Levi’s sons are not given a tribal land like the others. The Lord takes the Levites instead of the firstborn of Israel. They serve the tabernacle, carry it, and assist Aaron. Aaron’s house is the priestly family within the tribe. Not every Levite is a priest. They receive tithes, and they give a tithe of the tithe. In the temple they are singers, gatekeepers, and servants of the house. Jesus is not a Levite. He is a priest after the order of Melchizedek, and the service of the tribe pointed to a better ministry.
