A vow is a promise spoken to the Lord, and it must be kept.
If you make a vow, you shall not delay paying it.
A vow is voluntary, and then it binds. If a man vows a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself, he shall not break his word. He shall do all that has gone out of his mouth. Delaying payment is called sin. It is better not to vow than to vow and not pay. Jephthah’s vow shows the danger of a rash mouth. Hannah’s vow gives Samuel. The Nazirite vow is one kind. The church is told to let its yes be yes. A promise to God is not a lever.
