There was a certain man in Caesarea
called Cornelius,
a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
a devout man, and one that feared God.
Cornelius is the Roman centurion at Caesarea. He feared God. He prayed. He gave alms. An angel told him to send for Peter. Peter saw the sheet, and heard, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. He went. While he spoke, the Holy Ghost fell on those who heard. They spoke with tongues. Peter said, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized? Cornelius is the door. The gospel went to the Gentiles, and God showed that He had received them.
