Isaiah lists seven spirits of God.
“And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.”
Isaiah 11:2
Understanding is the third name. It rests on the Branch with wisdom. The Lord gives wisdom, and out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding. Jesus opened the understanding of the disciples, that they might understand the Scriptures. The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit. They are spiritually discerned. Understanding is not a quicker mind. It is the Spirit who rested on the Son, opening the word.
