Every Knee Will Bow is
the prophetic and apostolic declaration that
the entire created order will one day submit to
the lordship of Jesus Christ.
Drawn from Isaiah and fulfilled in the exaltation of the Son,
it announces that every knee in heaven, on earth, and under the earth will bow,
and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
This universal acknowledgment will bring glory to God the Father.
What the church confesses now by faith,
the whole universe will one day confess openly and irreversibly.
In Isaiah the Lord swears by Himself that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall swear allegiance to Him. Paul takes up that oath and applies it to Jesus Christ. Because the Son humbled Himself to death on a cross, God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow — in heaven and on earth and under the earth — and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. The scope is total: angels and the redeemed in heaven, living people on earth, and the dead and the demonic under the earth. No realm is exempt. The confession is not optional; it is the inevitable outcome of Christ’s finished work and present reign. For believers the bowing of the knee is already a glad act of worship. For those who refuse Him now, it will be the forced acknowledgment of a reality they can no longer deny. In either case the final result is the glory of God the Father.

Every knee will bow. God has sworn it. The cross has secured it. The exaltation of Jesus has guaranteed it. In heaven, on earth, and under the earth, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. For the believer this is already a glad reality of worship and surrender. For those who refuse Him now, it will be the unavoidable acknowledgment of a truth they can no longer deny. In either case the final result is the glory of God the Father. Therefore bow the knee today. Confess Him as Lord while it is still the day of salvation. Live under the name that is above every name. The day is coming when the whole universe will join the confession — and of that confession there will be no end.
