¶ Sitting at the Right Hand
Sitting at the Right Hand is the exalted position of the risen and ascended Lord Jesus Christ at the right hand of God the Father.
It signifies completed work, supreme authority, ongoing intercession, and the guarantee of final victory.
After offering Himself once for all, Christ sat down — the posture of a finished task — and now reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords.
From that place of honor He intercedes for His people, rules over every power, and waits until all His enemies are made a footstool for His feet.
The right hand of God is the place of highest honor, power, and authority in the universe. After Jesus accomplished the work of redemption on the cross, He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. This session of Christ is the public declaration that His sacrifice has been accepted, that His work is finished, and that all authority has been given to Him. From that exalted place He intercedes for His people, pours out the Spirit, governs the church, and directs the course of history. The heavenly places are therefore the realm of His present reign. Believers, united to Him, are already seated with Him there by faith, sharing in His victory even while they still live and contend on earth. The final stage of that reign will be the open subjugation of every enemy and the delivery of the kingdom to the Father.
