The keys of the kingdom are given to Peter,
to bind and loose.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven,
and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
I have the keys of Death and Hades.
Jesus gives the keys of the kingdom of heaven to Peter in the same word that promises the church. The keys open and shut. What Peter binds on earth shall be bound in heaven. What he looses on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Later He gives the church the same binding and loosing. These are not the keys of Death and Hades. Those He keeps. He died and is alive forevermore, and He has them.
- The kingdom keys are given. The death-and-Hades keys are held. Do not trade them.
- The key of David is a third key. He opens and no one shuts. That key sets the open door before Philadelphia.
- Binding and loosing is heaven’s answer to what is bound and loosed on earth. The keys are authority under Him, not a second throne.
Peter receives kingdom keys. Christ keeps the keys of Death and Hades. The church does not take those from His hand.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.
He has the keys of Death and Hades.
Those He does not give away.
- Matthew 16:19 is the giving of the kingdom keys to Peter.
- Binding and loosing is the work of those keys.
- Matthew 18:18 gives the church the same binding and loosing.
- The keys of Death and Hades stay in the hand of the Living One.
- The key of David is His opening and shutting, named to Philadelphia.
- Given keys and kept keys are not the same keys.
- The Gift – I will give you the keys.
- The Kingdom – The kingdom of heaven.
- The Work – Bind and loose.
- The Heaven – Bound in heaven, loosed in heaven.
- The Other Keys – Death and Hades, kept by Christ.
- The Key of David – He opens, and no one shuts.
- Matthew 16:19 – “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
- Matthew 18:18 – “Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
- Revelation 1:18 – “I have the keys of Death and Hades.”
- Revelation 3:7 – “Who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens.”
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
I have the keys of Death and Hades.
He gives the kingdom keys. He keeps the keys of Death and Hades. Do not put Peter’s keys in the hand that holds death, or take death’s keys from the Living One.
