The scapegoat carries Israel’s sins away into the wilderness.
The goat shall bear all their iniquities on itself to a remote area.
On the Day of Atonement two goats are taken. One is for the Lord, and its blood is brought inside. The other is for Azazel, the goat that goes away. Aaron lays both hands on its head, confesses the sins of Israel, and sends it into the wilderness by a man ready. The goat bears their iniquities to a remote place. One goat’s blood is for the presence of God. The other goat’s journey is for the removal of the sins. Jesus does both. He enters by His own blood, and He takes away the sin of the world.
