Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement, the tenth day of the seventh month.

Yom Kippur is the Hebrew name of the Day of Atonement. On the tenth day of the seventh month Israel afflicts itself and does no work. Aaron brings the blood of the bull and the goat within the veil, and sends the scapegoat into the wilderness. Atonement is made for the holy place, the tent, the altar, the priests, and the people.
