The Crippled Woman is the daughter of Abraham who had been bent over eighteen years and stood straight on the Sabbath.
There was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen years.
She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself.
When Jesus saw her,
He called her over and said,
Woman, you are freed from your disability.
He laid His hands on her,
and immediately she was made straight,
and she glorified God.
Ought not this woman,
a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years,
be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?
The synagogue ruler had words about working days.
The crowd had joy.
Luke sets this in a synagogue on the Sabbath, after a warning about the tower and the need to repent. She is there. She does not ask. He sees. He calls. Freed is spoken before the hands land. Immediately she is straight, and glory goes up. The ruler is indignant—not at bondage, at timing. Six days for work. Come then and be healed. Jesus calls him hypocrite. You untie an ox or a donkey on this day and lead it to water. A daughter of Abraham, bound by Satan eighteen years, is of more value than a stall. The word loosed is the same family as the animal’s rope. Bondage is named as Satan’s work without turning every illness into a demon on display. She glorifies God. His adversaries are put to shame. The people rejoice at the glorious things done by Him. Eighteen years of looking at the floor ends in a spine that can look at the Lord. The Sabbath is for loosing. They had made it for leaving her bent.

She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, ‘Woman, you are freed from your disability.’ And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, ‘There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.’ Then the Lord answered him, ‘You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?’ As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.”

All the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by Him.
Do not love the calendar more than the daughter. See her. Call her. Speak freedom. Untie what Satan bound. Let the Sabbath be for loosing. Stand straight and glorify God. The floor is not her forever view.
