The Morning Star is Jesus,
the bright morning star.
I am the root and the descendant of David,
the bright morning star.
And I will give him the morning star.
Until the day dawns
and the morning star rises in your hearts.
Jesus names Himself. He is the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star. The promise in the letter to Thyatira is not a second star. To the one who conquers and keeps His works until the end, He will give the morning star. He gives what He is. Peter tells the church to pay attention to the prophetic word until the day dawns and the morning star rises in the heart.
- The star in Numbers is the same line of promise. Balaam sees a star out of Jacob and a scepter out of Israel. He could not curse the people that star would rule.
- Isaiah 14:12 is a different use. The Hebrew is Helel, shining one, son of the dawn, spoken over the king of Babylon. Latin later rendered it Lucifer. That page is Lucifer. It is not this title. Jesus is the bright morning star. The fallen one is not.
- The church is told to hold what it has until He comes. The morning star is the end of that hold, not a private symbol.
Do not give His name to the king of Babylon. Do not take the Thyatira promise away from the conqueror. He is the star. He gives the star.
He is the bright morning star.
He gives the morning star.
The day star rises in the heart.
Isaiah 14 is not this title.
- Revelation 22:16 is the controlling line. Jesus says, I am the bright morning star.
- Revelation 2:28 gives that star to the one who conquers in Thyatira.
- Second Peter 1:19 sets the morning star rising in the heart beside the prophetic word.
- Numbers 24:17 is the older star out of Jacob.
- Isaiah 14:12 is Helel, applied to Babylon, later called Lucifer. Do not merge the pages.
- The gift is Christ, not a second savior and not a fallen angel.
- The Name – I am the bright morning star.
- The Root – Root and descendant of David.
- The Gift – I will give him the morning star.
- The Heart – Until the day dawns and the morning star rises.
- The Older Star – A star shall come out of Jacob.
- The Other Text – Isaiah 14 belongs on the Lucifer page.
- Revelation 22:16 – “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”
- Revelation 2:26-28 – “The one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations… And I will give him the morning star.”
- 2 Peter 1:19 – “And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”
- Numbers 24:17 – “A star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel.”
- Isaiah 14:12 – “How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn!” This line is about the king of Babylon. It is not Jesus’ title. See Lucifer.
I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.
I will give him the morning star.
Until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
A star shall come out of Jacob.
