Thyatira is a city before it is a symbol. Jesus tells John to write and send to the church there. The letter to Thyatira is the study of what He said. They tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. He gave her time to repent. The wound in the letter is love and service, and a tolerated teacher.
Revelation 2 holds the words. The city is not a code that replaces them.
