The Antichrist is the final great opponent of God and His people who will arise in the last days.

He is defeated by the appearing of Jesus Christ and is thrown into the lake of fire.
The Bible teaches that a climactic figure of evil will appear at the end of the age. Scripture does not give his personal name in advance, but it gives a clear portrait of his character, his career, and his certain destruction. The spirit of antichrist is already at work wherever Jesus is denied as the Christ come in the flesh, yet a climactic figure is still to come. For believers the teaching is not a cause for fear but for watchfulness, endurance, and confident hope. The same Lord who warned of the Antichrist has promised to destroy him with the breath of His mouth and the brightness of His coming. Until that day, the call remains the same: abide in Christ, test the spirits, and hold fast to the true gospel.
