“King of kings and Lord of lords” is
a majestic title that declares
the absolute and unrivaled
supremacy of God.
It presents Him as
the One who reigns over
every earthly ruler
and every spiritual authority.
In the New Testament
this title is applied
specifically to Jesus Christ,
affirming His full deity
and His final victory over all powers.
The title combines two expressions of supreme authority:
Together they form a powerful declaration that no power in heaven or on earth stands outside His rule or above His authority.

At the same time, the title is a sober reminder that every person and every power will one day answer to Him. All knees will bow and all tongues will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11).
“King of kings and Lord of lords” is one of the most exalted titles given to God and to Jesus Christ. It declares that every throne, dominion, and authority stands under His rule. For the church it is a banner of hope: the Lamb who was slain is also the King who will reign forever, and His victory is certain.
