The Bible is filled with real men and women whose lives, choices, and relationships with God reveal key truths about faith, obedience, redemption, and God’s plan throughout history.
This section of the glossary focuses on the individuals God used in powerful ways. Each entry highlights their story, character, key events, and lasting significance in Scripture.
You’ll find pages for patriarchs, leaders, kings, prophets, apostles, and other notable figures. Many of these lives serve as powerful pictures or types that point forward to Jesus Christ.
- Individual pages are stored under the People folder (e.g. People/Abraham, People/Moses, People/Paul).
- Each person page follows a consistent format with Short Definition, Biblical Meaning & Role, Key Insights, Key Events, Important Scriptures, Related People, and optional Notes.
- Subpages can be added under major figures when needed (for example under People/Jesus you could later add People/Jesus/Names or People/Jesus/Deity).
- The Triune God – God, Jesus, Holy Spirit

Throughout Scripture we see recurring themes in the lives of God’s people:
- God often chooses the unlikely or the weak to accomplish His purposes.
- Faith and obedience are repeatedly tested and rewarded.
- Many individuals’ stories foreshadow the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
- God’s faithfulness remains constant even when His people fail.
- Hebrews 11 – The “Hall of Faith” that highlights many of these individuals.
- Genesis 12–50 – The stories of the patriarchs.
- 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings – Lives of the kings and prophets.
- Acts – The lives and ministry of the apostles.
- Places – Many of these people are closely tied to specific locations.
- Glossary – Doctrinal terms that appear in their stories (e.g. [[Faith]], [[Covenant]], [[Redemption]]).
