The Belt of Truth is
the first piece of the Armor of God
mentioned in Ephesians 6:14.
In the Roman soldier’s armor,
the belt was essential because
it held everything else together.
Spiritually, the Belt of Truth represents
the foundational role of truth
in the life of a believer.
Without truth,
the rest of the armor cannot function properly.
In the armor of a Roman soldier, the belt (called a cingulum or balteus) served several practical purposes:
