The time of Jacob’s trouble
is the day of great distress
for Israel.
Alas! for that day is great,
so that none is like it:
it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble;
but he shall be saved out of it.
The time of Jacob’s trouble is the phrase from Jeremiah 30:7 that describes a unique day of distress for Israel. It is the day that is great, so that none is like it. In the study of the end times this phrase is commonly applied to the Tribulation, the final seven years of Daniel’s 70th Week, and especially to the Great Tribulation that comes upon Israel and Jerusalem.
