Worship in Israel is the people coming to the Lord at the place and in the way He named.
You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.
Israel worships the Lord who brought them out of Egypt. The place is the tabernacle, then the temple. The means are the offerings, the feasts, the priests, the psalms, and the blessing. They are told not to worship as the nations worship, and not to appear empty-handed. Sacrifice without obedience is rejected. Jesus tells the woman of Samaria that the hour is coming when the Father is worshiped neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem only, but in spirit and truth. The forms trained the people. The worship that remains is in spirit and truth.
Him only shall you serve.
Three times a year you shall appear.
Worship the Father in spirit and truth.
You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.
They shall not appear before the Lord empty-handed.
The true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth.
Israel came as He appointed. The hour He announced is spirit and truth. The forms were the school. He is the place.
