And in the midst of the throne,
and round about the throne,
were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
And they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy.
John sees four living creatures in the midst of the throne and round about it, full of eyes. One like a lion, one like a calf, one with a face as a man, and one like a flying eagle. Each has six wings. They rest not, saying Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. When they give glory, the elders fall. They are named beside the elders and the angels, not as the elders. Ezekiel saw four living creatures by the throne, with faces of a man, a lion, an ox, and an eagle. The two sights are kin. The text does not say they are the same four, and it does not say they are the church.
