Laodicea is one of the seven cities Jesus addresses in Asia.
The lukewarm church.
He knows their works.
He who has an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Laodicea is a city before it is a symbol. Jesus tells John to write and send to the church there. The letter to Laodicea is the study of what He said. They say they are rich and need nothing. He says they are poor, blind, and naked, and He stands at the door and knocks. The wound in the letter is wealth in their own eyes, and a knock at the door.
Revelation 3 holds the words. The city is not a code that replaces them.
Laodicea is a real city.
The letter is His word to the church there.
Hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Send it to the seven churches, to Laodicea.
I know your works.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Read the letter He sent to this city. Do not turn the city into a symbol that skips His words.
