Pergamum is one of the seven cities Jesus addresses in Asia.

Pergamum is a city before it is a symbol. Jesus tells John to write and send to the church there. The letter to Pergamum is the study of what He said. Antipas, His faithful witness, was killed among them. Some still held the teaching of Balaam and the Nicolaitans. The wound in the letter is a held name, and Balaam’s teaching.
Revelation 2 holds the words. The city is not a code that replaces them.
Pergamum is a real city.
