Victory over Death is the triumph of God through Jesus Christ over the power, fear, and finality of death.
It was secured by Christ’s own death and bodily resurrection and is shared with all who belong to Him.
Scripture declares that death has been swallowed up in victory and that the last enemy to be destroyed is death.
Because Jesus lives, those who trust Him will also live, and death no longer holds the final word.
Death entered the world through sin and has reigned as a universal enemy ever since. It separates body from soul, brings grief and fear, and stands as the last barrier between humanity and lasting life. Yet the gospel announces that this enemy has been decisively defeated. Jesus entered into death, bore its full weight, and rose again on the third day, breaking its power. His resurrection is the firstfruits and the guarantee that all who are in Him will also rise. For the believer, death has lost its sting; it is no longer a doorway into condemnation but into the presence of the Lord. The final victory will be complete when Christ returns, the dead are raised, and death itself is thrown into the lake of fire. Until that day, the church lives and dies in the confidence of a victory already won.

One day death itself will be no more. Until then, we face death with hope, we grieve with hope, and we live with the confidence that nothing — not even death — can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
